• Few of us misplace things out of stress, few out of forgetfulness, and a few out of old age.  

• The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers have developed a fully-equipped robotic arm that helps locate items that are currently out of sight.
  
  

How does it work? 

• Important items that we tend to misplace are marked with special tags.  

• A robotic arm with a camera and antennae combine visual input and signals to find these lost objects even if they may be deeply buried under a pile of other items.  

• With the help of machine learning, the arm focuses on the prime object that it needs to pick up, moves other items on top of it, grasps the object, and verifies that it picked up the right thing.  

• It can work in any environment without any specific setup.
