“DTZ FWJ FBJXTRJ” Do you get it?
All we wanted to say is that “YOU ARE AWESOME” 🤩
But through an encrypted message!
What is Encrypted message?
- *Encryption* means converting information into another form for secret and secure communication.
- The reverse of this process is called *Decryption*. 🧐
- It means converting an encrypted message into its original form or human-readable form.
- Then there is something called a *key.*
- When you and your friend share a room, you both will have the keys to unlock the room. 🗝️
- If one of you locks it, the other can unlock it.
- Similarly, with an encrypted message, only the sender and the receiver have the keys.
If one encrypts a message, the other can decrypt it.
For example, in the message “YOU ARE AWESOME”
Our key is: _Move the original letter ahead by 4 letters_
- So A became F
- B became G
- C became H and so on.
- And the original message became “DTZ FWJ FBJXTRJ”
And using the same key and moving each letter backwards by 4 letters, we can get back the original message.
If we use a different method of encryption,
"YOU ARE AWESOME" in _Morse code_ would be
*-.-- --- ..- / .- .-. . / .- .-- . ... --- -- .*
- We’ve used an extremely basic example to give you an idea of encryption.
- The encryption methods used in today’s digital world are very advanced and complex.
- Normal computers cannot break them with the processing power available now. 🖥️
- The field that deals with these methods is called *Cryptography*
